Abby Brown, CNM

Abby Brown is excited to join CFP in 2024 to expand the gyn and menopause care portion of the practice. A Certified Nurse Midwife, Abby earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University in 2007 and holds a BA from Smith College in Northampton, MA.

With a deep passion for obstetric and gynecologic care, Abby's professional journey has spanned a variety of settings, she started out at a large public health midwifery practice in NYC seeing patients at a clinic on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and attending births at Bellevue Hospital, she then had a detour to London where she worked as a lecturer to midwifery and nursing students at Middlesex University, and after moving back to NYC she started a small private midwifery practice, Community Midwifery Care that she co-owned with two partners.

In 2020, Abby and her family relocated to Austin. Seeking a better balance for her young family, she made a shift to focus exclusively on office-based gynecologic care.

As perimenopause became a personal reality, Abby realized how difficult it was to find quality care for this transition. This inspired her to dive deeply into the subject, and she is now a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified clinician.

She looks forward to collaborating with Connie Ryan, drawing on her amazing repertoire of menopause care knowledge while bringing her own unique flavor of care and skill set to the practice.

Abby believes health care should be a partnership between clinician and patient. As the expert of your own body, you bring invaluable insight, and Abby draws on her 17 years of clinical experience to work collaboratively with you to optimize your well-being.

Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her family and their maniac dog, discovering new bands, traveling, and eating delicious things. A born and bred Arizonan, she especially loves exploring gorgeous greenbelts of Austin.
